Hi everyone. I wish I had more uplifting news to report but, unfortunately, I did absolutely horribly on my bio final. The types of questions he asked were so different from those on the midterm and were all very tricky. It's beyond disappointing to work so hard for something and than do poorly. I spent so much time studying, but received a grade I could have gotten by never opening the textbook. I was so upset that I gave myself a huge migraine which is still pulsating through my head, so I apologize if this is brief.
I was super upset and didn't want to do anything, but the Madre dragged me out of the house to get Japanese food. This is the first time I had to be convinced to eat sushi!
We began with the vegetable appetizer
Sorry to heat about your less then stellar grade- it's alright girl- we all have those days! Hang in there!
ReplyDelete((hugs)) bummer about the bio final, i absolutely hate it when you feel like all your studying was useless because the exam was completely different than expected. really frustrating!! but i'm going to be the annoying pollyanna and say: you are still very smart and amazing :) youll bounce back with class :)

ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry about your exam. Let me try to cheer u up! Look at it this way (although I'm not trying to sound like your mom....)
ReplyDeleteYou can't do anything about it now so worrying will only be detrimental to your wellbeing. At least it's over and you can move on to other things. I know you will still pass the class with flying colors! ;)
It could be a little humilitating the next time you see your professor, but hey, I'm sure your professor will understand as he/she may have had the same experience back in the day.
I believe anyone can do bad on a test every once in a while and still be successful in the end. So pat yourself on the back for trying your best. We all know (including your professors) that you are an extremely intelligent, hardworking lady! Hang in there and best wishes to you always!!
Ugh, sorry to hear about the test. If it makes you feel any better, I absolutely bombed my physics final on Thursday...it put me in a funk too. I know how hard you work though, so I'm sure the rest of your tests from the class can salvage your grade :) Hang in there love!!
ReplyDeleteAda, I'm so sorry you're feeling down over your grade but please try to remember that this is ONE grade and does not, nor will ever, define all of the other achievments you've had and will continue to have.
ReplyDeleteIf you struggled with this then I'd imagine everyone else had a hard time too ~ you did everything you could in terms of study and I believe you're a fiercely intelligent young woman.
You can pick yourself up from this ~ don't let it knock your confidence. Remember, you're the girl who ran 34 miles: you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to and with your determination I know you'll go far, regardless of one grade which didn't meet your expectations.
Thinking of you

I'm so sorry about your test--there's nothing worse than plugging away at something and then having the format/questions totally screw you. At least you have the satisfaction of knowing you still did your best; and in the end, it's not your lack of motivation but a whack professor.
ReplyDeleteSashimi always puts me in a slightly better mood. And it's summertime, which is my favorite time of year in NYC.
I'm sorry about your test... it really sucks to invest so much time in something and then have it turn out differently than you would have liked.

I'm sorry about the test. I know how frustrating it is when you spend so long preparing for something and it just doesn't go the way you'd planned. And you work so hard! So I think it's your bio prof's fault for making an impossible test.
ReplyDeleteThat video is hilarious! Who knew watching a clip about a search engine could be funny?
